10th Distance Training Convention of the German Armed Forces

3-5 September 2013 – Helmut-Schmidt-University/ University of the German Armed Forces, Hamburg, Germany

The Distance Training Convention of the German Armed Forces is an information and innovation-driven forum for technology-based basic, refresher and enhanced training in the economic, scientific, public and military sector. This year the theme is "Education = Success!"

Telespazio VEGA is commited to this success precisely: Designing training and its way to measure success is not an easy task nowadays. Training means are becoming increasingly complex exactly because they have to reflect the more and more complex systems. The variety of teaching methods have almost no limits but in many places there are no or no sufficient interfaces of learning content, learning objectives, learning progress and learning and its documentation.

Trainers and users from various fields of defence technology are confronted with this problem. This is why the focus on this year's stand of Telespazio VEGA Deutschland (no. 47) will show concrete examples of Learning Content Management and measurement of learning success in our simulation-based training systems. By visiting us you will learn about our capabilities as reliable partner and consultant for innovative and pragmatic solutions for training and Learning Management Systems, that reflect global standards and latest developments.

Telespazio VEGA meet Students in Surrey

    10. & 11. Oktober 2012 – Surrey University, Vereinigtes Königreich

On October 10 we invite you to attend the speech

    "Flying Mars Express
A career with Telespazio VEGA in the cockpit of Europe’s first Mars mission"
held by Thomas Ormston, Telespazio VEGA Spacecraft Operations Engineer,
    in the Lecture Theatre A
    from 6 – 7 pm.

Flight operations are an often overlooked area of the space industry but one which is fun, rewarding and occasionally slightly nerve-wracking! Telespazio VEGA would like to invite you to a talk giving you the real story of life flying Europe’s first Mars mission, Mars Express, from the European Space Operations Centre (ESOC) in Darmstadt, Germany.
The Mars Express mission has been in orbit around Mars since 2004 and has been at the centre of numerous scientific breakthroughs. Not only these but the mission has also pioneered developments in space technology, outreach and inter-agency communications. The latter culminated in the on-going successful support of NASA’s new Mars lander, Curiosity.

None of this happens though without someone in the “cockpit” of the spacecraft, and that’s where the operators at Europe’s mission control come in. We’ll tell you what space operations are about and focus on the actual business of keeping such a complex machine working so far from home. We’ll show you what it actually means to fly a spacecraft for the European Space Agency and how we ensure that what we do is both safe, productive and exciting! Overall we hope that we can pass on our enthusiasm for this critical part of the space industry.

The presentation will be given by Telespazio VEGA Spacecraft Operations Engineer, Thomas Ormston. Thomas has been working on Mars Express for 7 years, after graduating from university in the UK. He will tell you about working for Telespazio VEGA and our activities in the space industry and space operations, along with how you could get involved with a career in Telespazio VEGA.

On the day of the Careers Fair, 11 of October, we kindly invite you to visit the Telespazio VEGA stand to hear about our dynamic international Company, looking for young and motivated staff. We will communicate where to find us on this site very soon.
Besides in order to give you a concrete example of the Operations world we will be running practical presentations of our Spacecraft Operations Training System.

More information on the careers fair can be found of the website of University of Surrey.
