This is an opportunity for an experienced Software Engineer. The successful candidate will have a very interesting environment to strengthen his/her software development experience. He/she will have users feedbacks and discussions with European Space Agency and being part of the space community. This position is based at our Headquarters in Darmstadt, Germany. It is full-time and permanent and expected starting date will be earliest October 2019.

Responsibilities/Duties

The general activities are the following:

  • Development and maintenance of Mission Control Applications following formal software engineering processes (MICONYS Suite e.g. SCOS-2000, DARC, FARC,GFTS,SPMON etc).
  • This includes user and system requirement analysis, software requirement engineering, software design, implementation and maintenance activities Interfacing with the technical officers

Qualifications/Experience

  • Software engineer with minimum 3 years’ experience in the development, operation & maintenance of satellite control systems (e.g. SCOS-2000, EGS-CC)

Essential Skills

  • Fluency in English
  • Experience (minimum 3 years) in the full cycle of development and maintenance of Mission Control Applications following formal software engineering processes. This includes user and system requirement analysis, software requirement engineering, software design, implementation and maintenance activities.
  • Experience in the definition of Ground Segment system level requirements and production of system architectural design artefacts in the domain of the Mission Control Applications.
  • Experience in the definition of software requirements and architectural design and implementation of Spacecraft Monitoring & Control applications.
  • Experience in the customization of Spacecraft Monitoring & Control applications
  • Good knowledge of programming and scripting languages (i.e. C++/Java, Python)
  • Pratical knowledge of Myconis suite package: ARES,

Desirable Skills

  • C++ language
  • SQL
  • Simulation experience is a plus
