We are looking for an ambitious engineer, who wants to take a challenge and is willing to contribute to our excellent team on-site our customer EUMETSAT. The tasks will generally cover the routine operations of the EPS / MetOp Spacecrafts and its different instruments as well as the operations preparation of the upcoming EPS-SG / MetOp-SG Spacecraft.

Responsibilities / Duties

  • Support the routine operations of the EPS / MetOp satellites. Provision of operational expertise to the relevant system and/or platform and instrument. Maintain the corresponding operations documentation and flight procedures.
  • Perform trending and performance analysis on the corresponding subsystems and instruments. Investigation into satellite anomalies.
  • Participation in satellite on-call support rota. Identification and support to the implementation of system and process improvements concerning the spacecraft operations team responsibilities.
  • Support the systems and operations preparation of EPS-SG / MetOp-SG satellite.
  • Support the system and operations preparation of other LEO satellites.

Qualifications / Experience

  • University degree in the domain of engineering, physics, or equivalent.
  • Some experience in operations preparation and routine operations of satellite systems and sub-systems - preferably LEO - are an asset.

Essential Skills

  • Knowledge of relevant CCSDS and ESA PUS standards,
  • Very good knowledge of Python,
  • Very good knowledge of XML,
  • Excellent interpersonal skills,
  • Proven ability to synthesise complex issues,
  • Proven ability to plan and implement activities, prioritising according to constraints, inter-dependencies and opportunities,
  • Excellent reporting skills,
  • Experience in writing formal technical documentation,
  • Fluent in English (speaking and writing).

Desirable Skills

  • Knowledge and experience with CHART are an asset,
  • Knowledge of the SCOS-2000 Mission Control System are an assest as well as knowledge of database and OBSM management.
