The use of small drones is becoming an increasing challenge to companies and institutions all over the world. Hundreds of flights have been cancelled during the closures of Gatwick Airport near London in December 2018 or Frankfurt Airport in May 2019 putting high pressure on airports. Pictures illegally taken of newest products on companies' properties or smuggling goods into prisons are additional threats already seen. In order to address these kind of issues, Telespazio VEGA is developing advanced security solutions for detecting and tracking drones and their pilots.

As part of a motivated multidisciplinary team, you will use software defined radios (SDR) to record radio signals specific to small drones, improve, develop and implement algorithms for state-of-the-art signal analysis techniques for radio signal detection and localisation as well as validate its performance on the company's testing range.

Responsibilities / Duties

  • Identification and selection of advanced signal processing techniques for radio localisation and tracking
  • Antenna configuration analysis
  • Implementation of SDR configuration and algorithms in C/C++ using CUDA
  • Support integration into the product

Qualifications / Experience

  • University degree in electrical engineering or computer science
  • Proven experience in signal analysis and software development
